The Open Workshop, also known as Open Stage Zurich, has been an established meeting place for the Zurich scene since 2018, focusing on freely improvised music and performative sound practice. The event offers musicians an open framework for spontaneous encounters, improvisation, and artistic exchange.
The evening is divided into two parts: a moderated curated set with ad hoc ensembles, and a collectively curated set in which participants themselves propose musical constellations. These changing lineups result in short sets encompassing both musical and performative forms of expression.
With its international and diverse focus, the Open Workshop sees itself as a constantly growing network and a social and artistic space for resonance, where new collaborations can emerge and existing ones can be deepened.
